Today I took an old Soviet suburban train also called “elektrichka” from Riga central railway station to the seaside coastal town of Jurmala on the Baltic Sea.
These old Soviet trains have disappeared almost everywhere across the former Soviet Union in the thirty years that it doesn’t exist anymore.
But in Riga “elektrichka” is still working! What a miracle.
Probably it’s the last year because according to the plan it will be replaced with more modern trains starting next year.
It’s mostly a window views video on the way from Riga to Dzintari, Jurmala.
